Full Day Trip to Argolis

We start by heading out of Athens towards the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea and the view is breathtaking, this tour will take us to the first capital of Greece, Nafplion.

 On own way to Nafplion we will make a brief stop at the Corinth Canal which we will be able to enjoy a wonderful view of the canal, this canal is approx, 6 km long and 8 m deep.

 About ten minutes away we'll arrive at Ancient Corinth where St. Paul preached and lived for about 2 years and you will get the chance to see the temple of Apollo as well as the ruins of the ancient city of Corinth.

Leaving the site of Ancient Corinth, we drive through the hills with thousands of olive trees and the Nemea vineyards to reach the archaeological site of Mycenae (rich in gold).

This was the kingdom of the mythical Agamemnon with it's huge Cyclopean Walls, the tomb of Agamemnon known as the Treasury of Atreas.

Our tour continues from the site of Mycenae to the first capital of Greece Nafplion, were we drive among endless farms of orange trees. The city lies under the rocks of Palamide, (Venetian Castle) and a smaller castle of Acronafplia and Bourtzi which is situated on a small islet.

After approximately one hour break for lunch in the old city of Nafplion we head towards to one of the most important and beautiful archaeological sites in Greece the ancient theatre of Epidaurus renown for its acoustics where significant cultural events are held every summer.  It was built in two separate stages, the first at the end of the 4th century b.c. and the second in the middle of the 2nd century.The Theatre of Epidaurus has reached our days almost intact. The view, aesthetics and acoustics of the theatre are breathtaking. It’s still in use today and hosts carefully selected theatrical plays, concerts, and festivals during the summer.
